Elin Ashrafi

Elin joined Kinnevik’s Stockholm team in 2021.

At just 15 years old, Elin moved away from home to dedicate her life to elite basketball, a commitment that sparked her truly competitive mindset. Today, this is also what she obsesses over at Kinnevik — finding the most ambitious, relentless, and competitive founders who are bold enough to build the next-generation of global businesses. As a part of Kinnevik’s venture team, she is a generalist investor focusing on early-stage companies in the Nordics and Baltics. In our portfolio, she is involved with a broad palette of companies, both in terms of stage, business model and commercial level; from deep-tech mobility business Vay and the asset-light insurtech company Safetywing in the early-stages, to climate innovation of H2 Green Steel and the complex online grocery business of Oda & Mathem on the growth side.

Elin started at Kinnevik as the Swiss army knife to CEO Georgi Ganev, working on strategic topics, later making an operational stint at one of Kinnevik’s portfolio companies to learn what the real world looks like.
