Ola Nordbye

Ola is an Investment Director in the London office and leads the firm’s strategy for financial services and software companies serving that space. Originally Swedish, Ola has spent the last 16 years in London and the New York, and invests across Europe and the U.S. As a teenager he was running his own business and programming in his spare time, developing a fascination for how tech can fuel entrepreneurship early on.

He is particularly excited by the opportunities for new technology to fundamentally change the ways things are done in the financial sector, which in addition to being one of the largest is also one of the most conservative. Ola is a hands-on investor who often gets deeply involved with the companies we invest in, always feeling energized by a chance to get his hands dirty with complex opportunities as well as issues.

Prior to Kinnevik, Ola worked as an M&A banker at J.P. Morgan and as a growth investor at One Peak Partners. He is currently a board member of Sure, Lunar, XYB and Omnipresent; and was previously managing the firm’s investments in Bread, Betterment, Linio, Lamoda, and others.
